Not every exterior issue needs a full replacement. Sometimes a few panels of siding got hit by a lawnmower, a section of fascia is rotting where the eavestrough backed up, or a piece of soffit blew loose in a windstorm. Modern Renovations handles targeted exterior repairs across Winnipeg and southern Manitoba — siding, soffit, fascia, eavestroughs, and cladding. We’ll assess the damage, tell you honestly whether a repair will hold or if you’re better off replacing the section, and get it fixed quickly so the problem doesn’t spread. Small repairs done right now save you from big replacements later.
Cracked, dented, or broken siding panels — whether vinyl, fibre cement, or engineered wood. We can often replace individual panels without disturbing the rest of the wall, as long as matching material is available. On older siding where an exact colour match isn’t possible, we’ll tell you upfront and discuss your options.
Sagging, damaged, or missing soffit panels that are letting moisture, pests, or cold air into your attic space. We replace the affected sections and check for damage behind the panels before closing everything back up.
Rotting or water-damaged fascia boards, typically caused by leaking eavestroughs or ice dams. We remove the damaged sections, inspect the rafter tails behind them, and install new fascia — usually aluminum-wrapped for long-term protection. If the fascia damage is caused by an eavestrough problem, we’ll flag that too so the root cause gets fixed.
Leaking joints, sagging sections, damaged downspouts, or improperly sloped runs. We can reseal joints, replace sections of trough, reposition downspouts, and add extensions to direct water away from your foundation. If your eavestroughs are beyond spot repair, we’ll recommend a full replacement with seamless aluminum.
Loose, dented, or missing aluminum cladding around windows, doors, or trim. We custom-bend new pieces onsite to match the existing material and seal everything properly.
This is the most important question, and we’ll always give you an honest answer. A repair makes sense when the damage is limited to a small area, the rest of the material is in good condition, and a matching product is still available.
A replacement is the better call when the damage is widespread, the material is old and deteriorating everywhere, or the underlying structure has issues that need to be addressed. Patching failing material just delays the inevitable and costs you more in the long run.
We’ll never push a full replacement when a repair will do the job. And we’ll never patch something that needs replacing just to give you a cheaper quote today. You’ll get a straight recommendation based on what we actually see.
Manitoba’s climate is hard on exteriors, and the damage isn’t always dramatic. The most common issues we repair are caused by ice damming — water backing up under shingles and rotting fascia from behind, wind damage — loose soffit panels, lifted siding, and bent eavestrough hangers after storms, impact damage — lawnmowers, ladders, hail, and fallen branches hitting siding panels, age and wear — UV breakdown on south-facing walls, sealant failure at joints, and gradual deterioration of older materials, and water pooling — clogged or poorly sloped eavestroughs overflowing and damaging the fascia, siding, and foundation below.
If you’ve noticed any of these issues, it’s worth getting someone out to look at it sooner rather than later. Exterior damage that’s left alone tends to spread.
We’re not a handyman service — we’re a dedicated exterior renovation company. Our crews work on siding, soffit, fascia, eavestroughs, and cladding every day. That means when we show up for a repair, we can identify related issues that a general contractor might miss and recommend the right fix the first time.
Owner Josh Vokey is involved in every project, repairs included. We show up when we say we will, we’re honest about what we find, and every repair is backed by our 5-year workmanship warranty.
It depends entirely on the type and extent of the damage. A single siding panel replacement is a small job. Replacing a run of rotted fascia with new aluminum-wrapped boards is a bigger one. We provide free onsite assessments and give you a clear quote before any work starts.
If your siding is still in production, usually yes. If it’s discontinued or heavily faded, a perfect match may not be possible. In those cases, we’ll discuss options — sometimes we can pull matching panels from a less visible area of the house and put new ones there instead.
If you’ve had storm damage — siding torn off, soffit ripped loose, fascia hanging — call us and we’ll get out as quickly as we can. Exposed areas need to be addressed before more moisture gets in, especially heading into winter.
Storm damage and hail damage are often covered under your homeowner’s insurance policy. We can provide documentation of the damage and a detailed estimate to support your claim. We recommend contacting your insurer first to find out what’s covered.
If you’ve got exterior damage — even if it seems small — give us a call. We’ll come out, look at it, and tell you what it needs. Modern Renovations serves Winnipeg, East St. Paul, West St. Paul, Selkirk, Stonewall, and communities across southern Manitoba.
